AudioVisual Management

I was surfing the internet earlier when I found this website about audiovisual management and at the same time a consulting company for corporate meetings and events worldwide. Sounds amazing for me! The name is AudioVisual Management.

In the corporate world, there are a lot of activities that happen every single day. There are meetings, trainings, product demonstrations, and many other events that need to be planned and organized well. Because of this those who are in-charge of event organizing are frantic of what to do in order to come out with a good and satisfactory result.

In times like this, you need to call for help. AudioVisual Management is there to lend their hands so worry no more. It's like a one-stop shop where you have everything you want for your event. They have audio and video equipment rental, audience response systems, webcasting, audiovisual staging, lighting, event production, audiovisual management and technical consulting.

What are you waiting? Visit http://www.avmw.net now for your audiovisual management needs.

My Better-Half...

Got this tag from Ana. Let me share to you something about my hubby, wonderful better-half.

1. First name
- Job (very short... his name was taken from the Bible)

2. How and where did you meet?
- The first time we met was in the evening of June 30, 2000 at Davao Pier. He had a crush on my younger sister that time so he accompanied her in fetching me in the pier (I came from Iloilo City from a 3-month study and vacation). There was an instant connection the first time we met. But of course as friends only... as in we became the best of friends. After a couple years of friendship, we realized we're falling for each other. It was his first time to really court and have a girlfriend (that's why our friends would tell me not to break his heart....hehehe). By the way he was my third boyfriend but the first serious one. :)

3. Characteristics
- We are exactly opposite in terms of characteristics (but they say opposites attract). He is silent, I am bubbly. He is shy, I am thick-faced (baga ug nawong daw...hehehe). He loves math, I hate numbers (language na lng plz). He is thin, I am chubby (lami man gud mukaon). He never say bad words (as in...never heard him curse), I do sometimes (when I'm really angry). My hubby is a very good man with a big and kind heart (ask our pastors and my siblings...hehehe). He is an OWL... what I mean is he is awake at night and sleeps in the day (he is a certified TULOG KING). He is computer, motorcycle and hummer-addicted person and lastly he is obsessed with me. :)

4. Your plans 20 to 30 years from now
- 20 years from now Job will be 49 and I will be 47. Maybe by that time our eldest child will be graduating from college so that means two more kids in school (he wants three children). So most probably, we still will be working by that time to support our kids' education. Hopefully, by that time also our businesses will be doing good and earning well so that Job and I can travel around the world. :)

Congratz James!

I received a very good news from sister Chikai this morning. She told me that her hubby James is now a registered US nurse. He finally passed the NCLEX exam (he took the exam last month in Manila). I cried while reading her text about this good news. You see, we've been earnestly praying about this thing for months now. Job and I really prayed for James that he will pass this exam.

God is really good and that's for sure. With this great blessing, God has once again showed his greatness in our family. He is faithful to His promises... to God be the glory!

Honestly, aside from the happiness I felt inside, I also feel lonely. Because James and Chikai will be leaving soon for US. They will be staying there for years because they have an immigrant visa. I have waited for this day to come and at the same time feared for this day. You see, we are very close as siblings/family and my heart aches every time I think one of my siblings will leave.

I'm praying that I will be able to bear the loneliness of having James and Chikai thousands of miles away from us. Surely, I will miss them.

Again... congratz James. Let's praise God for this wonderful blessing!

Bevs for SK Chairman

When it comes to politics, I’m quite negative about it. With all the dirty politics I’ve seen and experienced here in the country, I can’t be blamed. That is why when they asked me if I will allow my sister Bevs to run for SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Chairman in our barangay, I immediately said NO. My first concern was it might affect her studies. She’s graduating now in high school and she’s maintaining a grade so that she will remain in the honor’s list. And of course, I want to protect her. I don’t want her to be exposed to the world of “dirty politics”.

But my two younger siblings (Che and Jam) were very excited about the idea of having the “first politician in the family”. They told me that it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for Bevs and will surely be a learning experience for her. And they said if ever Bevs wins, she will be a responsible and hardworking leader in the community (I agree with them, Bevs is a student leader in the school since elementary days and she does her job well).

To cut the story short, I was finally convinced to allow Bevs to run. Because I’m a “stage sister” ;) no one can’t stop me from giving my all out support to Bevs. Since the start of the election campaign last Friday, I am consistently present in every motorcade, gathering, etc. to campaign for Bevs. I am now caught in this election fever!

God bless you Bevs. Your family and friends are here to support you. Matalo man o manalo, just enjoy the experience! :)

Sukob

dorths1.jpg

The photo above is a picture of my bestfriend Dorothy who got married last Saturday (October 13) to Ars (a man she met in Cagayan Valley when she worked there in an orphanage years ago). They had a sunrise wedding at Dumaguete. Beside them is their best man, Kuya Natz (Dorth's older brother).

I'm so happy that finally Dorothy and Ars are now married. I know that they've been waiting for this special moment to happen. It's funny because Dorths and I are wed in the same year (mine was last June 16...sukob kami...hehehe).

To Ars and Dorths, congratulations and best wishes. I pray that God will bless your marriage. Enjoy your honeymoon! ;)

4th Monthsary

I thank God for this beautiful day. Today is the 16th day of the month and this means Job and I are in our fourth monthsary as married couple. Since our wedding last June 16, hubby and I always make it a point to celebrate our monthsary as husband and wife. Just few hours ago, we had a dinner date at newly-opened resto here in Gensan called Veranda Cafe and Grill.

I love you Dabs and I always thank God for you. May God continue to bless our marriage and may He keep us together always.

Be Bold! Be Strong!

Remember these:

1. You are God's child. He will never let you go! Hold onto that Truth!

2. Always do what is good and right.

3. Be ready to tell anyone you meet about God's amazing love.

4. Put all your trust in Jesus, and know that he has saved you.

5. And finally, fight the devil with God's own Word.

Satan is going to try to take away all the good things God has for you - but don’t worry - God is on our side! And with God on our side, no one - not even Satan - can defeat us!

Be bold! Be strong! For the Lord your God is with you!

Bonding Time with My Siblings

My sisses and bro (Chikai, Bevs and Jam) visited me here in Gensan this weekend. We had a wonderful time together and of course we shared lots of fun and adventure. We went to Isla Parilla, Tinoto Beach in Sarangani and watched Apat Dapat Dapat Apat movie. What a blessing to have siblings like them.

Fil-Ams to file 0.5 billion-dollar suit versus ABC

A group of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans is preparing a 500 million-dollar class suit against ABC Network in the United States in response to a slur against Philippine medical schools and Filipino medical professionals, aired in the premiere episode of the fourth season of "Desperate Housewives".

In that episode, the character Susan Mayer (played by actress Teri Hatcher) questioned the credentials of her gynecologist over a disputed diagnosis. Mayer said she wanted to check the doctor's diploma to make sure it didn't come "from some med school in the Philippines".

The class suit is being filed by the Northern California chapter of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA).

Two weeks since the controversial episode aired on television, Filipino Americans have persisted in their protests, saying the network's apology sent to ABS-CBN's North American News Bureau by email is not enough.

Excited

I'm very excited because tomorrow my sisters Cherry and Bevs and my brother Jam will be coming here in Gensan to visit me and Job. This will be the first time that the four of us will be together in this place. It would be a long weekend for us (it's holiday tomorrow as declared by MalacaƱang for the celebration of the last day of Ramadan), and that means more time to bond together.

I really want to bring my siblings to Maitum for water tubing adventure but they will be arriving lunch time tom so it would not be possible for us to go to Maitum since the place is quite far (about two hours of travel from Gensan).

If God will allow, Job and I will bring them to Isla Parilla. We will have our lunch there and in the evening we will pig-out in the famous barbecue food stations here (I'll tell you pork barbecue in Gensan is the best, for me it's really delicious and super affordable).

Hopefully this Saturday, we will go to the beach in Tinuto (in Bawing, Sarangani). I'm sure we will have fun time there (the place is really beautiful... remember our post wedding pictures? that's the venue of our pictorial).

Well, I can't wait to see them tomorrow. I'm really excited! I have to say goodbye now, I still have to cook spaghetti as my welcome treat for my dear sisses and bro. ;)

Our Wedding

These are some of the photos in our wedding last June 16, 2007 at Adela's Garden, Eden, Toril, Davao City. For more pictures and stories, please click here.

Aero Funk and Strip Tease

I was invited by Cheayenne (my hubby's sister-in-law) this afternoon to join in her aerobics class. Since I don't have anything to do and I want to get rid of the excess fats in my belly *lol*, I decided to join.

We had a male instructor (I hope he's 100% male...hehehe) and he taught us aero funk and strip tease dances. We were nine in the group and I felt like I'm the thinnest...hahaha. :) We had so much fun during the entire one-hour exercise. Grabe gud akong singot...feel kaayo nako ang moment labi na sa strip tease dance where we used a stick, bench, chair and mirror. I was thinking of my macho-gwapitong hubby while doing the dance routines na paigat-igat....hehehe. ;)

Tomorrow, I'll still be joining the exercise class and I was told that we will have kickboxing. Wish me luck, I'm hoping to lose weight, remove excess fats and most importantly lower my blood pressure (lisud na ning hypertensive ta) through daily exercise.

A Simple Prayer

Here I am, Lord!
I thank you and praise you
for all your wonderful blessings!

I will delight
in everything you have given me.

I put my trust in you.

You are always at my side,
and today I will have everything I need.

Forgive me for the times
I have disappointed you.

Guide me and teach me.
Fill me with your power,
so that in everything I do
I will be a delight to you.

Amen.

(Got this simple prayer from the internet. Happy Sunday to everyone. Let's continue to worship and serve God.)

Liezl's Carbonara de Espesyal

Last Tuesday at our house in Davao, I had the opportunity to cook my first-ever carbonara or white spaghetti for some. I really wanted it special and of course delicious so before the "big day" I did some research on the internet on the ingredients and how to cook carbonara. I also asked my friends what to do. When the cooking day came, I got so confused with all the information I got that I end up cooking my own style so I called it Liezl's Carbonara de Espesyal.

I'm supposed to post some photos here but I don't know how to do it because everytime I try to post, an error remark comes out. So, I posted it in my other blog. For more stories, please visit my other site by clicking here.

Anyway, the people who were able to take a taste of my carbonara gave positive remarks. They liked the taste of my carbonara. According to my cousin it's delicious and my father was surprised telling me that it's his first time to see a white spaghetti. ;)

A New Creation

I'm into blogging for a couple of months now. I'm not yet an addict (unlike my sister Chikai...hehehe) but I can say that I enjoy doing blogs especially now that I have lots of free time. I am still learning about blogging since I'm really new into this world. It was my sister who encouraged me to blog so she improved my first blogsite which was created by my hubby (also an internet addict... hehehe) months ago.

Well, I'm so proud of my self because I have created a new blog site without the help pf my sister or my hubby. ;) I call this one as "a new creation" and I'm excited to be posting blogs and pictures here. I chose the title My Great Finds in LIfe for this new blog site of mine because I believe that in this world, you and I will find many great things that will enrich our lives and will make our daily existence exciting and colorful.

I hope you will enjoy my new creation... welcome to my blog world! :)
